If somebody writes a great poem, people don't run around
applauding the pencil, saying 'Oh, what a great pencil'...
...I'm a pencil in God's hands.

Esther 5+ Months

Well, Esther is growing fast. She is now 5 and a half months old, and growing strong. She can stand for long periods of time while holding onto mummy, can roll onto her tummy and back again, sit momentarily without support, AND has 2 teeth. The other day she even grabbed my coffee cup and tried to drink from it! What a journey you have had so far my little darling!!! I love you VERY much!!!

Esther's Chronicles: Esther's dedication

We were very privileged to enjoy the dedication of our daughter Esther last Sunday. In Baptist churches, a dedication is somewhat similar to a christening or naming day. However, there are also a lot of differences. Nevertheless, we were also privileged to have both our families along for the day, and to have them over for lunch afterwards.

Esther's grandfather (on Dave's side) doing the bible reading.
The explanation of what Esther's name means. Esther (Persian): star. Anne:  graceful.

Committing ourselves to raising Esther in a Godly home.
Pastor Phil takes Esther and prays a blessing over her.
Daddy saying a few words while Phil talks to Esther.
Mummy reads out Grandpa's note (Corallie's Daddy couldn't be here because he has pneumonia).
More prayer from Pastor Phil.
Group prayer over our little family.

Esther meets her paternal grandparents/Esther cuts her first tooth

It was so good this morning to go to the airport and pick up the in-laws who met Esther for the very first time. They were quite besotted and while Esther slept in her capsule, they looked lovingly on. I can tell that they will be very doting grandparents, and enjoy the time they have with Esther while they are home. I look forward to seeing them build a relationship with her as she grows over the next few months.

On another note, Esther is cutting her first teeth. She has been quite ratty, but has two little teeth poking through. One on the bottom right and top left. Not at the front though, which I thought quite weird at first. But every baby is different. I wonder where the next ones will poke through?
